CHAPTER 53 Continued

We stood there among the floor wires and noise.  Making out like teenagers.  I knew I was playing with fire, and I did not give a shit.  It has been so much teasing from Chef Brock. That kissing this stranger, is somehow legitimizing what I wish I could do to the Married, Chef Brock.  But I can’t and right now Chad is kind and sweet and holding me. And oh boy, is he a great kisser.  Soft and slow.  He puts his hand behind my neck.  Drawing me into more kisses.  And all the days of sadness and fear. This day has been like an Oxygen Thief to me.

Chad looks at me.  Not judging me. Just the two of us is all that matters.  At this moment, I can feel ALL for the first time in sooooo long.  All  I wanted to do was wrestle him down to the ground.  When I finally let go of his lips, that were so inviting.  He looked surprised.  He held my gaze for a moment smiling.  And he bit his lower lip and grabbed me tight.  He ran his hand up my back in my thick White Chef Coat.  While his warm lips gently kissed my neck and then up to my mouth again.  And I knew even in my thick  Chef Jacket he could hear my heart pounding.

Just then! ! A Bell went off!!  Chad lifted his head. ”Oh God, Jill, we got to go NOW!  We have to get back to the kitchen, and get the frosting on all the cakes. OR WE WILL DEFINITELY GET FIRED.  He gave me one more quick kiss.  Grabbed my hand, and we literally flew down all the stairs and back into the elevator.  We returned to the kitchen and the Lead Chef said, ”That we were to go frost the desert cakes.”  Again, Chad and I, were on the opposite side of the kitchen, and had trays and trays of small round cakes to frost.  However, Chad wasn’t just a great kisser.  He had all of us cracking up, and having fun with all the designs, and colors, we could put on the cake!  Once the cakes were frosted, we had to place them on a rolling cart.  And head back to the carpeted hall for the waiters to plate and serve.  Then back to the kitchen and do clean up.
